Cordelia Locust

With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Service along with the Locust Family announce the transition of 78-year-old Mrs. Cordelia Locust of Kinston, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at UNC Lenoir Health Care

Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the First Missionary Baptist Church, and burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Locust is survived by two sons, Anthony Freeman of La Grange, Travis Freeman of Wilson Mills, NC, one daughter, Krystle Atkinson of Kinston, one brother, Samuel Freeman of Virginia, three sisters, Jean Harvey of Kinston, Dorothy Gentry of Georgia, Doris Freeman of Maryland, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
