With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral services, along with the Russell Family announce the transition of 72-year-old Mr. Donald Ray Russell Sr. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Russell, of the home; four daughters Vonetta Russell of Cartright, LA, Erica Russell of Goldsboro, NC, Matikia Russell of Fayetteville, NC, and Troyonna Russell of Raleigh, N.C; Six Sons, Donald Russell Jr. of Georgia, Alton L. Johnson and Marcus O. Johnson of Kinston, NC, Eric B Russell of MD, Christian D. Russell of MD; two sisters Deloris Griffin and Eula Dixon of Kinston, NC, and grandson TyQuan Johnson. A host of other relatives and friends.

There will be no services.
