Eldred Hopkins

With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Hopkins Family, announce the transition of 67-year-old Mr. Eldred Hopkins of Greensboro, formerly of Kinston, NC.

Service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from St. James AME Church on Shine Street, Kinston; burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Hopkins is survived by his mother, Doris Hopkins Smith of Kinston; three brothers, Bobby Hopkins of McLeanville, NC, Norbert Hopkins of Clayton, NC, and Edwin Hopkins of Highpoint, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
