Ethel "Peggy" Lee Chapman Sutton

With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Chapman and Sutton Families, announce the transition of 83-year-old Mrs. Ethel Lee Chapman Sutton of Queens, New York, formerly of Kinston, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, from the River of Life Christian Center. Burial will follow the service in the Pinelawn Memorial Park. The visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Robert Swinson Jr. Memorial Chapel.

"Peggy," as she was affectionately called, leaves to cherish her memory: her Son, Romonte Sutton of New York, Daughters, Darshel Ray of New York, and Takiyah Sutton of Kinston, N.C, Brothers, Joseph Chapman of Grifton, N.C, Herlis Chapman, and Donnie Chapman, both of Kinston, N.C, Sisters: Yvonne Little and Doris Chapman, both of Kinston, N.C,  Dianne Chapman of Grifton, N.C,  Shirley Terrell of New York, and Christine Watson of South Carolina. "Peggy" also leaves behind five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
