Fornice Williams

August 23, 1956 — May 27, 2025

Newark, DE

We, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, join the Williams family in announcing the transition of 68-year-old Ms. Fornice Williams on May 27, 2025, at her home in Newark, Delaware.

Fornice was born, with her twin Fornell, in Kinston, NC, to Roger and Fannie Williams on August 23, 1956.

Affectionately known as "Niecy" to family and friends, she had a beautiful first soprano singing voice. She sang in talent shows and other events with her two best friends, Kaki Wingate and Teresa James of Kinston. The group was known as "The Charmettes". Their leader, costume designer, and makeup artist, Mrs. Pittman, made sure they never missed an event.

Niecy left Kinston after completing her 8th grade year and moved to Baltimore, MD, with her family to continue her education. She later moved back to Kinston and worked in healthcare for some time. As a child, Niecy attended church with her family at Post Oak FWB Church. She later became a Seventh-day Adventist and joined the Gethsemane SDA Church in Kinston, located on Old Snow Hill Road.

Fornice is survived by her brother, Roger Jr. (NC), sister, Brenda Chavis (MD), niece, Teia Pritchett, nephews, Jamaal Stephenson and Eddie Chavis, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts, cousins, and special prayer partner, Mother Joreen Fields.

A farewell service will be held at the family cemetery for the immediate family.

The family of Fornice Williams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to those friends and family members who extended prayers, kind words, and deeds during our time of sorrow.
