With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Walker Family, announce the passing of 68-year-old Ms. Joanie Walker of Kinston on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.
Miss Walker is survived by her son, Christian S. Walker, Sr., three brothers, Ledell Walker, Jr of Greensboro, Michael Walker of New York, Tony Walker of Greenville, two sisters, Jennifer Hope Walker of Kinston, Julia Melendez of New Jersey, one grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family is requesting no flowers.
