John Dee Rouse

With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Rouse Family, announce the passing of 78-year-old Mr. John Dee Rouse of Zebulon, NC, formerly of Kinston, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC.

Service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, September 27, 2026 from River of Life Church, burial will follow Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10:00 a. from the State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 4 to 6 pm from the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.

Mr. John is survived by his wife, Alicetine Rouse of the home, two daughters, Sonya Rouse of Zebulon and Tammie Rouse of Kinston, five brothers, Marvin Kornegay of New Jersey, Dennis Waters, Eddie Waters, Bernard Dawson, Lincoln Waters, Jr. of Kinston, three sisters, Carolyn Grant of Fayetteville, Maureen Villines of Durham, Rhonda Jones of Virginia, two granddaughters and a host of other relatives and friends.
