With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, along with the Nelson Family, announce the transition of 45-year-old Mr. Monteze Rodriguez Nelson of 1609 George Ave., Kinston, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Carteret Health Care, Morehead City, NC.

Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4 to 6 pm at the chapel.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Jalesia M. Nelson of the home, five sons, ZyQuan Nelson, Monteze Nelson, Jr., Quamir Nelson, Sylas Nelson, Izaiah Nelson, all of the home, three brothers, Christian, Omar of Kinston, Rajohn of LaGrange, one sister, Tichetia Sanders of La Grange, his grandmother, Mrs. Ella Boddie of Kinston.
