Myrtle Farrow Battle was born to the parents of the late Randolph and Cynthia King Farrow on August 6, 1927 in Lenoir County. She was educated in Lenoir County and graduated from Adkin High School and DeShazers Beauty College in Durham, NC.

She joined Savannah FWB Church early in life and faithfully worked in the church. Later in her life, she was consecrated as a Mother of the Church.

Mother Battle was married to the late Raymond “Buddy” Battle and their union produced nine children, Donald (deceased)(Brenda), Ronnie (Birta), Patricia, Raymond (Arenda), Gary, Jacqueline (Melvin), Paula, Kevin (Phyllis) and Sharon (Michael).

She was preceded in death by siblings Vernell McLawhorn, George Farrow (Myra), Curtis A. Farrow (Johnnie Bell). Surviving siblings are Dora Quinerly, Pauline Farrow, William Farrow, Bishop Robert Farrow (Jacqueline), Addie Gaskill (Nelson). Also a special nephew, Jerry Mack Wiggins.

Grandchildren are Octavus Barnes, Sharletta Battle, Torise Young (Cecil), Courtney Cromartie (Rosette), Patrick Battle (Shameca), Katina Graham (Marquis), Christy McCoy, Jarrell Jones, Joel Battle (Veronica), Jason Battle, Dontrell Jones, Phyleia Battle, Jalen Jones, and Kollin Battle.

Great grandchildren are Kyhree Graham, Marquez Graham, Kimani Graham, Casidy Barnes Rivet, Anaya Carson, Willow Battle, Olivia Battle and Braxton Young and a countless number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Heavenly angels came and retrieved 90 year old, Mother Myrtle Battle on Monday, October 16, 2017 while in the house of the Lord.

The Life & Legacy of Mother Battle will be celebrated 1:00 PM Monday, October 23, 2017 from the United American Free Will Baptist Tabernacle (1011 Dr. J.E. Reddick Circle - Kinston NC) with Bishop B.R. Anderson serving as the eulogist.

Committal Services & Final Burial Rites will take place in the Evergreen Memorial Estates.

Visitation will take place Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 4-7PM at the Savannah FWB Church.

Family & Friends are being received at 4319 Braxton Road - Grifton, NC where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral processional.
