The Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services mourn with the Speight family on the transition of Mr. Nathaniel Speight, also know as "Foot" age 73 of 126 Lee St. in Snow Hill., who passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at home.

Graveside Services will be on Saturday, May16, 2020 , at 1:00 PM at Browntown Memorial Estates.  A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM from the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.

Due to social distancing for the COVID-19 pandemic, a public floating visitation will be limited to 10 at a time and funeral services will be limited to 50 people, which is consistent with the current recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

-OBITUARY-

Mr. Nathaniel "Foot" Speight, Sr., the son of the late Napoleon and Clydie Bell Jones Speight was born on, March 30, 1947. Nathaniel Speight, Sr., departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at home.
He received his formal education in the Greene County Schools in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
He accepted Christ as his Savior and was united with Brown Chapel Church, now known as New Christian Fellowship Center. Foot sung in the Soul Seekers choir for many years. He loved his Pastor and Elect Lady Barbara White.
In his early years Foot worked as a Ceramic Tile Mechanic with Harris Tile Company in Snow Hill. He loved fishing, coaching softball, working on cars. He was a Jack of all trades. Foot loved visiting the Nursing homes and the street ministry. Most of all he loved the Lord.

Nathaniel preceded in death by his daughter: Shermika Speight, father, Napoleon Speight, mother, Clydie Bell Speight, sister, Elvin Leween Speight; and brother, Alphonso "Cookie" Speight.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memories and legacy: 5 daughters, Shelia Jones, Christa Cox (Solomon) of Kinston, NC, Tawana Speight of Baltimore, Md; Renota Speight of Richmond, VA; Margo Speight of Farmville, NC; 1 son, Nathaniel Speight Jr., 8 sisters, Doris Hill of Ayden, NC; Dora Watkins, Wanda Speight, and Priscilla Harris all of Snow Hill, NC; Clara Smalls, Kinston of NC: Lisa Hodge (Larry) of Jacksonville, Florida, Charlene Warren of Farmville, NC, Simp Mitchell of Ayden, NC, 2 brothers; Anthony Speight (Brenda) of Snow Hill, NC; Anthony Mitchell of Ayden, NC; 21 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 aunts, Elder Ruthy Dixon, Eldress Scarlene Brock (Robert), Mattie Grant (Henry), A host of nieces, nephews & other relatives and friends.
