Palmer Lee Anderson Jr.

January 18, 1937 — July 3, 2025

Palmer Lee Anderson Jr. was born on January 18, 1937, in Kinston, North Carolina, the son of Palmer Lee Anderson Senior and Lucille Rhem Anderson.


Palmer received his formal education in Kinston, North Carolina at Adkin High School. He later served in the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. After his tour in Germany, he was honorably discharged and moved to East Orange, New Jersey and began his work career.


Palmer worked at Englehard Corporation, Engelhorn Meat and Railway Express as a truck driver. In time he became a local general store owner in East Orange, New Jersey.


In his later years, Palmer returned to Kinston, North Carolina to assist his family with their medical care. Palmer was very devoted to his parents and siblings managing their care prior to their departure from this life.


Palmer enjoyed his free time with his close friends at the racetrack and bowling alley as he was an excellent bowler. In his early eighties he continued to drive and make his weekly visits to the racetrack despite his dialysis treatments. Palmer was always positive in nature and got along with everyone.


Palmer passed peacefully from this life on July 3, 2025, after a gradual decline in health at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Margaret, Virginia & Aida, brothers John & Robert, and son Rodrick L. Anderson. He leaves behind a son Palmer L. Anderson III, daughters, sons-in-law, daughter in law, nieces /nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and very dear friends.
