Paulette
Alston
May 10, 1950 — Aug 19, 2026
With heavy hearts, we, the Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services along with the Alston Family announce the transition of 76 year old Mrs. Paulette Alston of Kinston on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at her home.
The service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel; burial will follow in Mills Memorial Gardens.
Paulette White Atlston, affectionately known and loved by many, was born on May 10, 1950 to the late Leo White and Minnie Bell White. She peacefully completed her earthly journey in her sleep on August 19, 2026.
Paulette attended Lenoir County Public Schools, where she received her early education. Seeking new opportunities and experiences, she later relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where her determination and entrepreneurial spirit led her to become a successful business owner. Paulette continued her educational journey and earned her credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Throughout her professional life, she faithfully served her community through her work in healthcare.
Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, Leo White and Minnie Bell White; her brother, Esless White; her grandmother, Ella Mae Jarman; and a special aunt, Rose Lofton.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her three beloved children: Traphiena Harris of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Sheridan Outlaw (Sabrina) of Kinston, North Carolina; and TJ Barrett of the home.
Paulette was a proud and devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Ayana Harris, Dennis Harris, Jordan Harris, Sheridan Harmon, Terion Arnold, and Armonte Arnold. Her legacy continues through her three great-grandchildren: Nasir Harris, Kamorah Harris, and Neriah Harmon. She also leaves two bonus grandchildren, Nyjeem Davis and Sanyia Hobbs.
Beyond her career and family responsibilities, Paulette found joy in life's simple blessings. She enjoyed watching movies, reading her Bible, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.
Paulette's life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, service, and family. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
