With heavy and sorrowful hearts, we, The Staff and Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, join the Dawson family in announcing the death of Mrs. Rachel M. Dawson on January 3, 2026. 

Rachel Mae Dawson, 90 years of age, of Kinston, NC, leaves a legacy of faith, fortitude, discipline, and love that will continue to speak for generations. She was a woman who understood that character is built in ordinary moments, that accountability matters, and that God must be honored not only in word but also in deed. Her life was a living testimony rooted in prayer, shaped by sacrifice, and marked by unwavering commitment to family, community, and faith.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Church of Faith and Deliverance in Kinston, NC, on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 10:00 - 10:45 A.M. 2026 from the church.

The family expresses sincere gratitude for the prayers, calls, and expressions of love during this season of transition.

Though we grieve, we do not grieve as those without hope. We rejoice knowing that Rachel Mae Dawson has gone home resting from her labor and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
