The Staff & Management of R. Swinson Funeral Services and the Dail family regretfully announces the transition of 78-year-old, Robert H. Dail., of 503 N. Queen St Apt 1E ., who passed away on Thursday, June 25,2020, at Vidant Medical Center.

Graveside Services will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Southview Cemetery.  A public visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM from the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.

Obituary

Robert Dail was born May 13, 1942 in Pitt County to Clarence and Ester Mae Dail. Robert was the fourth child of fifteen children. He departed this life, Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

He received his education in the Lenoir County Public school system.  He was employed at Carolina Dairy and retired from Smithville Packing Co. in 2006.  He was in Signature Nursing Home in Kinston, NC for over a year.  In his leisure time he enjoyed watching TV (especially Bewitch), spending time with his family, telling jokes, and reading his bible.  He was not a man of many words, however, he often talked about how he loved God and prayed for his loved ones. He really loved his nieces and nephews and looked forward to their visits.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ester Dail; son, Derrick Burney; five siblings, Linda Carol, Clarence Jr., Velma, Doris, and JoAnn.  He is survived by two daughters and two sons; Jennifer Dail of Greenville, NC; Francine Weems (Tim) of Briston, VA; Kenneth Dail (Keisha) of Philadelphia, PA; and Christopher Burney of Kinston, NC.; four brothers and five sisters, James Dail of Smithville, NC; Melvin Dail of Landover, MD; David Dail (Zena) of Mooresville, NC; and Andrew Dail (Janet) of Knightdale, NC; Shirley Rhoe, Esther Powell (James) both of Kinston, NC; Brenda Johnson (Ed) of Jacksonville, NC; Patricia Pritchett, Ruther Glen, VA, and Carol Arrington (Chuck) of Hyattsville, MD; his best friend and Fiancé, Margaret Beckwith of Kinston, NC, who was dedicated to him for over 15 years.

Additionally, he leaves nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two aunts; Margaret Ann Freeman of Farmville, NC and Deloris Curtis of Bridgeport, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
