With heavy and sorrowful hearts, we, the staff and management of R. Swinson Funeral Services, join the Artis family in announcing the transition of Mr. Willie J. Artis of 3661 Brann Road, Grifton, who passed on January 2, 2026. Please keep the Artis family in your thoughts and prayers during this sorrowful time.
Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2026, from Grainger Chapel COC-DOC, burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from the Robert Swinson, Jr. Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Artis is survived by his father, John H. Dixon, his mother, Erma Artis Hines of Grifton, two brothers, Ernest E. Hines and Dennis R. Hines of Grifton a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
